UPDATE: Photos are now up!
SVE Santa Teresa MTB, Run, & Duathlon

As the photographer for the South Valley Endurance event this past Sunday, I have to say I had a great time photographing the athletes and interacting with everyone at the race. If you competed in the one of the races, I most likely have a photo of you! Look for those very soon on the SVE website under the “Event Photos” tab.

As a skateboarder in San Jose, I’ve always heard about Tim Brauch, but never had the opportunity to meet him. From all that I’ve read and heard, he seemed like a real cool cat and someone who lived their life to the fullest. Though he passed away way to young, his life reminds me that a life worth living is one where you do the best you can and remember to smile. After all, what good is a life lived until 100, if you did nothing. Better to have had fun, did what you wanted, and helped others along the way, then to die old with nothing to show for it.

The show will be at the Blank Club in downtown San Jose tomorrow night, April 13th, doors opening at 8PM. Cover is $8 and the video on Tim’s life starts at 9:30. More info here: http://www.theblankclub.com/calendar.html

My buddy Joe Claus has a photo exhibit up at the Martin Luther King Jr. Library in San Jose, CA (the main public library downtown). The show, My Neighbors, has been up since December, but will run until the end of this month. The project is a photo tribute to the small business owners of Silicon Valley. I highly recommend you go check this out if your in the area, and even if your not, it’s worth the drive to see these amazing images by one of the nicest and most talented guys I know.

The library is located @ 150 East San Fernando Street, San Jose, CA 95112 and the exhibit is on the second floor just to the left as you get off the escalator (you can’t miss it). If you can’t make it over to the library, you can at least check out the photos in the series @ Joe’s website, joeclaus.com.

For those who don’t know, tomorrow is First Friday in downtown San Jose on South First Street and surrounding areas, where there are a number of galleries and spaces open to the public. There is no official reception for my work, however I will be around tonight so if you see me don’t hesitate to say hello! 

EDIT: forgot to update this here, but the work had to be taken down early due to the building being leased out, however, my work will be shown in redwood city sometime in february. more details later.
