As a skateboarder in San Jose, I’ve always heard about Tim Brauch, but never had the opportunity to meet him. From all that I’ve read and heard, he seemed like a real cool cat and someone who lived their life to the fullest. Though he passed away way to young, his life reminds me that a life worth living is one where you do the best you can and remember to smile. After all, what good is a life lived until 100, if you did nothing. Better to have had fun, did what you wanted, and helped others along the way, then to die old with nothing to show for it.

This is my second time-lapse video filmed at the Roosevelt skatepark in San Jose, CA (see my first one below). I’m stoked to do more of these in the near future, and possibly a larger time-lapse piece, covering a number of skate spots and parks throughout the bay area. I think I can safely say that this video basically sums up how many of us feel in the creative industry. Not only does this apply to writers, but anyone who is working as a creative professional.
After doing freelance work for some time, I am just fed up with people looking for free work. As Ellison says, “They want everything for nothing, but wouldn’t go 5 seconds without being paid.”
