Well, Spring is officially here and that means Summer is near. In just a little over a month, the mountain bike park at Northstar at Tahoe will be open. According to the people operating the Northstar booth at this year’s Sea Otter Classic, there will be a huge increase in trail maintenance this season. This was the number one concern amongst people who’ve ridden the park over the past few years and I have to agree. They did make some nice improvements with the LiveWire trail, implementing an irrigation system, but over the course of the summer the trail still seemed to deteriorate. Without a doubt, the terrain is a major factor due to the rocky and extremely loose and dusty soil. Lots and lots of water is definitely needed! I look forward to seeing the improvements this season as well as some awesome racing. Northstar is always a good time in the summer, so I’m stoked to get out there! I’m looking into photographing a number of the races, if not all of them this season, so keep your eye out for me and don’t hesitate to say howdy! See you on the mountain!
