I think I can safely say that this video basically sums up how many of us feel in the creative industry. Not only does this apply to writers, but anyone who is working as a creative professional.
After doing freelance work for some time, I am just fed up with people looking for free work. As Ellison says, “They want everything for nothing, but wouldn’t go 5 seconds without being paid.”

Why should this only apply to creative professionals? Why not all professionals?

I guess to expand on that idea, Why should anyone do anything for free? Why is it that I have to pay to play golf on weekends? Shouldn’t they be paying me? Tiger Woods gets paid. By playing golf for free I am devaluing my abilities. I call upon all golfers to stop playing for free.
