On the 1st of January, jpg mag was saying goodbye, but now there is news of a buyout. The website, jpgmag.com, was scheduled to shut down on the 5th, but it looks as if that shut off date has been extended.
Extended till when? Well, your guess is as good as mine, but if you check out their blog page, it looks as if “some wonderful companies” have made offers to keep the mag alive. This is good news to me as I think jpg mag is great and have yet to be published in it, but it could also be bad depending on who acquires the company. Flickr maybe? That would be good in my book. In the meantime, it’s business as usual over at jpgmag.com, so go post your photos, comments, and votes and keep the fire burnin’. You can also check out savejpg.com, which is meant to, well, save jpg through community support.
